'Blackmail, Banknotes and Backdoors' - BGK Assembly #1
Sun Jan 20, 2019 10:56 pm
Recently, the Central Yrsk Bank suffered from multiple brute-force hacking attacks, coming from botnets distributed across Borealicia. Luckily, the Yrsk security firm 'Ekvakke JsC.' was able to defend the bank's networks from attack, which turned out to have been caused by an unnamed Central Yrsk Bank employee who was payed in excess of 10,000,000 geld to open up a terminal to a public network.
This has brought up the topic of cyberterrorism to the Yrsk government.
Jorgn Svensson, Yrsk Delegate to the BGK:
"As a region, we need to work together in order to prevent acts of widescale terrorism. Attacks such as these have become orders of magnitude more frequent and dangerous than in the past, yet the BGK is archaic in design. As a result, our government puts forward an amendment to BGK Article 5, on the monitoring of communication between people in our region."
The amendment (referred to as the Svensson Accord) reads as follows:
'The nations in the BGK will share critical data with each other about open cases related to organised crime or terrorist acts, as well as expel or extradite any person(s) found to be guilty of such crimes.'
